Painterly abstract artwork "Reaction", abstract digital art in abstract expressionism art style by Karin Kuhlmann.

Artwork Title: Reaction
Artist:
Karin Kuhlmann 2002
Medium: Digital Art
Art Style: Abstract Art,  Expressionism

Description: The word "Reaction" has two meanings. First, it describes an action that follows from a previous action. Secondly, it is used in science to describe the behavior of an object to a stimulus (materials, substances, energy, etc.).

Series: Poetic Lyrical Contemplations. I worked on this series since 2000 to capture moments, moods and memories. The artwork “Reaction” is based on fractal flames, done with KPT5 FraxPlorer and artistically edited with Adobe Photoshop. The focus of these digital creations are color, subjective perceptions and emotions. An outstanding feature of this series in abstract expressionist style is the high translucency and the painterly quality of the images. The high quality of the digital file allows large fine art prints up to 60 inch.

The word "Reaction" has two meanings. First, it describes an action that follows from a previous action. Secondly, it is used in science to describe the behavior of an object to a stimulus (materials, substances, energy, etc.). To illustrate this topic I chose a fiery ignition flame surrounded by a transparent sphere out of melted glass and a sparkling color scheme with finely graded reds and yellows, accentuated and contoured by green and violet. To achieve the fine graded color deepness and the delicate transparencies the images has been artistically reworked with Photoshop. The abstract digital painting Reaction belongs to the abstract expressionist series Love, Faith and Despair from 2002/2003 and expresses the hope for a cure through chemotherapy.

“Reaction” has been used by Dr. Margarete Krau for her dissertation about “Kunst, Bild, Bildung” (“Art, Image, Education”). She also included interviews with temporary artists working with the digital media.

Fine Art Prints: The high quality of my abstract digital works allows large fine art prints up to 60 inch. Each print is individually printed from the original digital file and can be shipped worldwide.
